Every Person Is Different. So Is the Support They Need.
At Empower Care & Support, we provide personalised support for adult men aged 18 and over with a range of needs, circumstances and life experiences.
A diagnosis may help us understand part of someone’s needs, but it never tells us everything about the person. We take time to understand the individual, including how they communicate, what matters to them, their routines, strengths, preferences and areas where they may need support.
Our aim is to provide the right environment and level of support to help each person feel safe, build confidence and enjoy greater choice and independence in everyday life.
Individual Needs
Support starts with understanding the person.

Meaningful Everyday Life

More Than Support Needs. A Whole Person.
A person is defined by far more than the support they need. Everyone has their own personality, experiences, interests, relationships, routines and ambitions.
At Empower Care & Support, getting to know these things is an important part of understanding how someone wants to live and what good support looks like for them.

Different Needs. One Person Centred Approach.
People may come to Empower with different experiences, abilities and support needs. Some may need guidance with particular aspects of everyday life, while others may require more consistent or structured support.
That is why we look beyond individual diagnoses and focus on understanding how different needs affect the person, what support works best for them and what they would like to achieve.
Understanding the individual may include:
Communication
How the person communicates, understands information and expresses their needs and choices.
Daily Living
The support they may need with routines, personal care, cooking, household tasks and other activities.
Emotional Wellbeing
Understanding what helps the individual feel comfortable, secure, confident and supported.
Sensory Preferences

Independence & Future Goals
Understanding what the individual would like to achieve and where they want greater choice, confidence or independence.
Different needs may bring people to Empower.Understanding the individual is what shapes the support that follows.
Finding the Right Support Starts With Understanding the Person.
Finding a suitable placement involves more than matching a diagnosis to a service.
Before support begins, we take time to understand the individual’s current circumstances, needs, communication, routines, preferences and personal goals. This helps us consider whether our Woodford Green home, support environment and approach can appropriately meet their needs.
